The farm is one of the biggest employers in the area. It provides employment for 60 to 70 permanent workers and up to 200 seasonal workers. A mobile clinic visit the farm monthly and a religious service is held twice weekly. Wilnick regards the spiritual upliftment and building of moral values of workers as very important. On the horizon is a nursery school which could be followed by a school for older children with a soccer field.
Wilnick is active in mentorship partnerships with emerging farmers in the area. This entails a 50/50 partnership between Wilnick and the emerging farmer where all the necessary farming and management skills are transferred over a period of five years. A contract of 10 years on the same basis is currently being negotiated. Wilnick believes that for an emerging farmer such a collaboration is the best way to achieve commercial independence.
